(LONDON, Ontario) – The Lightning announced Saturday afternoon Chad Posthumus has been traded to the Island Storm for Nick Evans.
“An opportunity presented itself and we thought it would be a better fit for both players to have a fresh start”, said head coach Kyle Julius. “We wish Chad well with his new team.”
Evans is a 6”11 centre from Carbondale, Illinois who has played for the Island Storm and the Windsor Express over the past four seasons. Evans is currently averaging 13 points and 8 rebounds per game.
The Lightning have also signed Canadian Eric Kibi to the team.
“Eric is a talented small forward whom I have known for a long time and I’ve had the opportunity to train him in the past,” said Julius. “He had a successful season in Europe last year and he will add toughness and versatility to our line-up. We’re excited to have him w our group.”
Kibi, a Quebec City native, played with the former Ottawa Skyhawks and was most recently playing in Germany.
The Lightning will play its next two games on the road in Orangeville on Sunday against the A’s and in Windsor on Thursday against the Express.
London’s next home game is Mar. 5 against Orangeville and the United Way of London and Middlesex will reveal this year's campaign total during half time. Tickets are available through the Budweiser Gardens box office or online.
