NBL Canada Alumni, League Leaders to Participate in 2019 TBT Basketball Tournament

While the National Basketball League of Canada gets ready for its upcoming 2019-20 season, its ninth campaign cementing its reputation as the longest-operating men's professional basketball league in the Great White North, several different NBL players are suiting up for the TBT Basketball Tournament, one of the largest professional single-game elimination tournaments in North America.

Among the NBL's award-winners from the 2018-19 season who are playing in this year's TBT tournament are NBL Canada Rookie of the Year Frank Bartley (playing for Louisiana United), NBL Canada Newcomer of the Year Jaylen Bland (who with fellow NBL Canada star Bruce Massey are suiting up for Cititeam Blazers), and Defensive Player of the Year Rhamel Brown (a member of Team Draddy).

The TBT tournament features 64 squads of college alumni and neighborhood teams, all of which hope to claim a winner-take-all financial prize at the end.  Each team advances with a victory, similar in form to the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament.
