The National Basketball League of Canada is pleased to announce the release of the 2019-20 trailer video to celebrate its ninth season which features the talents of spoken word artist, Dwayne Morgan

"It was a pleasure working with the NBLC, and creating a piece to celebrate Canada's game. We're always looking outward for excitement, but sometimes when you look inward, you're surprised to find that it already exists right in front of you", said Dwayne Morgan. 
 
Dwayne Morgan began his career as a spoken word artist in 1993. In 1994, he founded Up From The Roots entertainment, to promote the positive artistic contributions of African Canadian and urban influenced artists.  In 2013, Morgan was inducted in to the Scarborough Walk of Fame.

Dwayne Morgan is a two time Canadian Poetry Slam Champion, and Scarborough Walk of Fame inductee. Over the span of his career, Morgan has published ten books, eight albums, and toured eighteen countries internationally.

"We're appreciative to Mr. Morgan for providing his time and talents to help us celebrate our ninth season," said Deputy Commissioner, Audley Stephenson.  "There's much anticipation and excitement about future of the game of basketball here in Canada. While much has been accomplished, there's so much more to do."
