The New Orleans Pelicans have filled the final open spot on their roster. According to Michael Scotto, a Hoopshype journalist, the Louisiana franchise has sealed a one-year signing of Caleb Houstan, who arrives to add a bit more depth to the small forward position while seeking the opportunity to log more minutes.

Houstan comes off a relatively quiet year in Atlanta, where he barely had opportunities and appeared in only 18 games, averaging about 4 minutes per game, which left him little time to showcase his strengths. In fact, although the Hawks converted his two-way contract into a regular one midway through the season, he was eventually waived shortly before the playoffs, launching a search for a new team that ends with this change of scenery.
The only thing Caleb could demonstrate in Atlanta was his prowess from beyond the arc, posting 52.4% on 21 attempts across the entire regular season, underscoring the improvement in this area that had already been evident during his three years in Orlando. We’ll see if with the Pelicans he now takes on a more significant role that allows him to show whether this growth can translate to a higher volume of attempts.
