The recent sale of the Los Angeles Lakers will not affect Jeanie Buss’s future.
According to the outlet California Post, she will continue in her role as Governor for at least four more years.
It should be noted that the Lakers were recently sold to billionaires Bob Iger and Josh Kushner for a record figure of $12.5 billion.
“We have an enormous appreciation for Jeanie, for her father, and for everything they have done for this franchise,” Iger said.
“And we intend to fully respect the agreement that Mark Walter and Jeanie Buss already had. If things change, they will change, but we face this new situation with enormous respect and for all that this franchise represents,” he acknowledged.
The purchasing opportunity for Iger and Kushner was forged in just three days after their prior interest in acquiring a team in expansion in the city of Las Vegas.
