For months there has been talk about the Golden State Warriors as a team fully immersed in the race to land big stars like Giannis Antetokounmpo or LeBron James. As we know, neither of them has arrived; however, that does not take away from the fact that the San Francisco team’s general manager, Mike Dunleavy Jr., remains ambitious about improving the roster.
“We have several ways to improve during the season, something we’ve done in recent years. It was seen in adding Jimmy Butler, doing the same with Kristaps Porzingis, or even going back to what we did with Andrew Wiggins. I would say we are quite good at improving our team midseason,” he said in statements collected by Dalton Johnson of NBC Sports Bay Area.
Beyond what they can do from the front office, Dunleavy stresses the importance of staying healthy and, in his view, they have a better roster than the one they faced last season; all while waiting for the returns of Jimmy Butler and Moses Moody.
“If people see us as a team that has achieved 37 wins, I would say we have improved that team relative to how it started last year with a player like Porzingis. And most importantly, as the season progresses, we will see how our players recover from injuries, with Moses and Jimmy being the cases,” he concludes.
