It has been a fairly action-packed summer for the Minnesota Timberwolves. Realizing they needed a fresh direction to push the project toward the long-awaited leap forward, the team moved to bring LaMelo Ball aboard, parting ways with Julius Randle. It is undoubtedly the marquee gamble, but they have done more to outfit the roster with all it requires, including the coaching staff led by Chris Finch.
According to Michael Scott of HoopsHype, the Minneapolis franchise has finalized the signing of Daniel Brady, who arrives to serve as an assistant coach to Finch.
The 38-year-old’s arrival comes after he spent last season on the staff of the G League’s Rio Grande Valley Vipers. Previously he spent three seasons with Tom Thibodeau in New York with the Knicks and also had stops with the Thunder, Hawks and Rockets.
It remains to be seen how influential his role will be in Finch’s decision-making, but it is clear that he is joining a team whose sole objective is to contend for everything in the Western Conference. Will it be enough this time around?
