Many questions swirl around the New York Knicks and their possible visit to the White House as the 2026 champions.
The friendship between President Donald Trump and owner James Dolan could turn the Knicks into the first franchise to pay him a visit.
During Trump’s tenure as United States president, all teams have refused to visit the White House.
However, the Knicks could be the first, though it is something the players and their coach Mike Brown will be weighing internally, as he recently acknowledged.
«No, we haven’t decided yet. It’s something the guys and the franchise are discussing internally. You know, whatever we do, we’ll do it all together», Brown said at the Media Day.
The Boston Celtics were the first team to visit the White House in 1963. The Obama administration did indeed welcome visits from all champions, and the Oklahoma City Thunder themselves refused last season.
Often NBA teams try to visit the President when they happen to have a game against the Wizards. On this occasion the Knicks will visit the capital of the United States on December 18, 2026 and March 16, 2027, respectively.
