October 19, 2026

To the surprise of many, the Milwaukee Bucks have announced the release of guard Kevin Porter Jr., ESPN reported.

With just under 24 hours to go before the start of the new 2026-27 regular season, the headstrong point guard finds himself without a team, awaiting a late-minute call.

Porter Jr. was in the final year of his guaranteed contract, valued at $5.39 million.

Reacquired by the Bucks after his time in Greece and with the Clippers, wearing the Bucks uniform he has appeared in 68 official games, posting averages of 14.9 points, 4.6 rebounds and 5.8 assists per game.
