Dalton Knecht to Try His Luck with the Knicks

October 23, 2026

Dalton Knecht, who was recently waived by the Los Angeles Lakers, has already found a new destination in the NBA.

According to ESPN, Knecht is set to sign a new two-way contract with the current champions who hold the ring.

A product of Tennessee and selected 17th overall in the 2024 Draft, the shooter will test his fortunes under Mike Brown and, hopefully, carve out a spot in the rotation.

Last season with the Lakers he appeared in 54 official games, averaging 4.2 points and shooting 34 percent from three.

As a consequence of his recent signing, Kevin McCullar Jr. will be released, who held another two-way contract alongside rookie Tyler Nickel (46th pick of the 2026 Draft).

McCullar Jr. has appeared in a total of 25 official games with the Knicks, posting numbers of 2.2 points in 7.4 minutes per game.
