NBA recap of the seven games played on October 25, 2026.
Utah Jazz 123–132 Los Angeles Lakers
We start with the first showcase of Luka Dončić in the 2026-27 NBA season. The Slovenian promised to bring the fight, and he has certainly delivered. Last night, in Salt Lake City, he dazzled with a 52-point performance that shattered the hopes of a home team that never made things easy.
The Lakers, still under construction, endured a brutal start, allowing 47 points in the opening quarter. Yet far from giving up, they fought back, flipped the scoreboard, and closed out the game in a dreamlike closing stretch led by Luka.
As for Utah, there are clearly many positive aspects to their game, but individual brilliance continues to outshine the collective at times. Keyonte George flirted with a triple-double, finishing with 24 points, 9 rebounds and 10 assists.
Brooklyn Nets 109–136 Indiana Pacers
The 2025 finalists have shown no mercy toward Brooklyn. Maintaining nearly the same roster from that year and already one of the most established projects in the league, Indiana leaned on a Tyrese Haliburton performance of 24 points and 10 assists as the backbone of their win.
In truth, Jordi Fernández’s crew appears to have few answers. Julius Randle and Michael Porter Jr. opened the season with strong rates, but last night they logged very little, each finishing with 10 points. One more season points to them as potential bottom-dwellers in the league.
New York Knicks 102–111 Orlando Magic
What the reigning champions are showing is no longer a coincidence. Mikal Bridges remains a mystery, his shots failing to drop, and Jalen Brunson shoulders the burden in what is turning into a nightmare start marked by three straight losses.
Meanwhile, the Magic took their first win of the season just as Paolo Banchero went down with an injury. It’s no coincidence; they tend to play better when one of their stars is out, and this seems like a pattern worth analyzing. Franz Wagner finished with 23 points, 13 rebounds and 9 assists.
Minnesota Timberwolves 117–94 Toronto Raptors
The Timberwolves are delivering a remarkable showing. The fit of LaMelo Ball is exceeding every expectation, and not only are they winning games, they’re administering beatings to teams at a respectable level like the Toronto Raptors.
They’re not even forcing the pace to the limit. LaMelo logged 17 minutes on the floor for 15 points, while Anthony Edwards led the scoring with 26 points. For Toronto, Scottie Barnes endured a rough night with 0 points on 0-of-12 shooting. But that’s what the Wolves’ defense does to you.
Oklahoma City Thunder 108–101 Los Angeles Clippers
First of all, our wishes for a speedy recovery to Jalen Williams after the severe injury he suffered. His misfortune has been extreme and will force the Thunder to lean more on other pieces moving forward.
In any case, the reigning champions of 2025 rolled to a comfortable win over a Clippers squad that continues to fight despite being forecast as the Western Conference’s cellar-dwellers. Darius Garland logged a double-double with 16 points and 11 assists, while OKC’s top scorer was Shai Gilgeous-Alexander with 34 points.
Philadelphia 76ers 93–106 Detroit Pistons
With Ausar Thompson and Jalen Duren sidelined, yet still carrying the weight of recent upsets, Detroit passed through Philadelphia, underscoring that they are as much a favorite as any other squad on any given night.
LeBron James returned after overcoming his lumbar issues, while Joel Embiid was not present and Jaylen Brown barely contributed with a 5-for-20 shooting line. Tyrese Maxey was on the expected form with 29 points, but it wasn’t enough to push for the upset.
For Detroit, Cade Cunningham led with 26 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists, while Duncan Robinson contributed 21. The Pistons look quite promising these days.
Sacramento Kings 112–123 Memphis Grizzlies
These Grizzlies are the season’s great surprise so far. Three games, three wins, and Ty Jerome sitting as the league’s top scorer with the 31 points he poured in tonight.
While everything is smiles in Memphis, the Kings’ current reality is as harsh as anticipated. Domantas Sabonis insists they will improve, but the gap to the rest of the pack remains so wide that it’s hard to imagine they can reverse the trend with 79 games still ahead. The one bright note? Zach LaVine, who looks really good and tonight signed off with 37 points.
