It had been quite a while since the Chicago Bulls had generated such buzz in the city.
And it’s no surprise. It seems that at last the Windy City franchise has pulled off something truly outstanding.
The front office was refreshed with Bryson Graham at the helm, and on the bench Tiago Splitter is set to make his coaching debut next season, after he performed quite well in Portland following Chauncey Billups’s departure.
But that’s not all, as the signings of Norman Powell and the trade for Nicolas Claxton, and above all, their new rookies, have the Bulls and the entire city delighted with Caleb Wilson, a product of North Carolina.
«It looks like he will be a key player in the team’s future,» said an anonymous executive to the media ESPN.
«Honestly, I expect to win Rookie of the Year. I’m going to work very hard. I will do what is necessary. I feel that the team is perfect for me,» Wilson himself acknowledged.
And part of those expectations also hinge on Tiago Splitter, who appears to have connected with the rookie in these initial trainings.
«He is very meticulous,» he noted about the new coach.
«He knows what he wants you to do and is very serious. Most coaches crack jokes and stuff. But Tiago is very serious and knows what he wants,» he highlighted.
«And I tell you the truth. I prefer someone sincere and direct to know what I can improve,» he added.
For the upcoming 2026-27 season, a starting five is expected to be made up of Josh Giddey, Matas Buzelis, Norman Powell, the aforementioned Caleb Wilson, and as the new center Nicolas Claxton.
