Miles McBride appears to be the Knicks’ biggest casualty of the Second Apron.
The Knicks won’t have money to re-sign everyone, and perhaps the most likely outcome is that he ends up being traded, possibly as soon as next February, or even sooner.
Recently, journalists Jake L. Fisher and Marc Stein discussed it on their own podcast.
“A more pressing issue for the Knicks. Teams continue to describe McBride as a probable trade candidate as the season progresses, given the uncertainty surrounding his future with the Knicks,” Stein said.
The quoted McBride is entering the final year of a contract valued at a mere $3.9 million, and could be a valuable trade chip for a future deal.
The same situation is facing Pâcome Dadiet, on the Knicks’ hot seat, and who is poised to depart so that they can sign two pieces soon, namely Bruce Brown and James Wiseman, according to sources close to the situation.
McBride has spent his entire professional career with the Knicks. In 277 official games his averages have been 7.1 points, 1.6 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game.
