The Minnesota Timberwolves have just released the schedule for the upcoming regular season, 2026-27.
And specifically February 28 has been highlighted in red, as that is the date chosen to retire the jersey number 21 worn by Kevin Garnett during his two stints with the team.
- First stint between 1995 and 2007.
- Last return in the 2015-16 season.

Garnett, now 50 years old, was selected by the Timberwolves with the fifth pick in the 1995 NBA Draft.
Among his numerous accolades are the 2007 NBA Championship; the 2004 regular-season MVP award; 15 All-Star selections and the 2003 All-Star Game MVP; four times chosen to the NBA All-First Team, three times to the Second Team and two times to the Third Team; the 2008 Defensive Player of the Year honor; and nine selections to the NBA All-Defensive Team.
With the Timberwolves he played 970 official games, averaging 19.8 points, 11 rebounds, 4.3 assists, 1.4 steals and 1.6 blocks per game.
