Warriors Bet on Dalen Terry

August 28, 2026

The Golden State Warriors have reached an agreement to bring Dalen Terry aboard. According to Michael Scotto, a Hoopshype journalist, the California franchise has signed a one-year contract with the shooting guard, granting him another chance to establish himself in the NBA after several seasons in which he did not quite reach his potential.

Terry was selected with the 18th pick of the 2022 Draft by the Chicago Bulls, who trusted in his versatility and competitive nature, but over more than three years in Illinois neither quality fully materialized. His role in the rotation was consistently limited and his on-court production tended to be modest, which led to a February trade that sent him to the New Orleans Pelicans, who waived him the following day.

The 76ers then offered him an opportunity through a two-way contract and appeared to be at least interested, since they first signed him to a standard deal for the rest of the season and later exercised the option to keep him on their roster. Yet the arrival of LeBron forced a shift in plans and necessitated roster changes that ultimately led to Terry’s departure. And now, the Warriors will seek to recapture what they once saw in Philadelphia and finally develop his potential.
