The Charlotte Hornets have announced, to many’s surprise, the dismissal of the young Ryan Nembhard.
This was confirmed by the North Carolina-based franchise through its social media channels, and they also announced the signing of Jarkel Joiner to participate in training camp.
With that move, they absorb a $2.1 million “dead money” salary, unless someone claims him during the waiver period, thereby assuming his contract.
There will be no shortage of interested teams, and among them the Denver Nuggets, led by Nikola Jokic, would be among the frontrunners.
Nembhard, 22 years old, averaged last season 6.6 points and 5.3 assists in 19 minutes per game.
