Josh Hart Adds Drama to the Situation: I’m Still Under Contract

October 11, 2026

Entering the 2026-27 season as NBA champions after a 53-year wait, one might assume the euphoria surrounding the New York Knicks would be uncontrollable; however, the mood has shifted somewhat following the failure to finalize extensions for Karl-Anthony Towns and Josh Hart. Hart, for his part, tries to downplay the matter.

Far from the drama expressed by the center just days ago, Hart chooses a much calmer and more conciliatory stance, highlighting that it is time to concentrate on the season, putting his contract situation with the New York organization on hold for now.

«Everything’s going to work out. I’m not really too stressed over it. I don’t devote too much time to it. Obviously, we have high expectations. It’s good that we can simply focus on the season and keep moving forward», he comments before underscoring the excitement of being in a position to repeat as champions.

«At the end of the day, I’m still under contract in New York. We have an incredible team that’s going to try to repeat. I’m in an amazing situation off the court. It’s not frustrating at all», he adds.

Josh Hart and the Finger Controversy
