The Denver Nuggets are truly betting on Bryce Hopkins. After selecting him No. 49 in this year’s 2026 draft, Colorado decided to sign him to a two-way contract, an arrangement that was first reported by Michael Scotto of HoopsHype, and is now official.
Despite a college career marred by a serious ACL injury suffered in January 2024, the 23-year-old wing has bounced back to deliver an excellent 2025-26 season with St. John’s, the college he played for, where he averaged 13.6 points, 6.2 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.1 steals in 37 games, earning him a place on the All-Big East Second Team.
Regarding his path up to now, Hopkins completed his college career with the Red Storm after spending one season at Kentucky and three at Providence.
Now as a Nuggets player, he had a standout showing in the Las Vegas Summer League, posting averages of 18 points and 6.5 rebounds in 25.9 minutes per game over four games. The other two of Denver’s bidirectional contracts are currently held by KJ Simpson and Julian Reese, though everything points to Reese being cut.
