The excitement surrounding the Miami Heat is running sky-high, and not only among their fans; so much so that the team’s head coach, Erik Spoelstra, thoroughly enjoyed the opening preseason game, particularly with the involvement of their new marquee signing, Giannis Antetokounmpo.
The head coach spoke to the media after defeating the Toronto Raptors 129-105 to say that watching the Greek in action left a huge impact on him, to the point of comparing him to one of the greatest players in history, Magic Johnson.
“The size, the vision, and his ability to put the ball in the hands of shooters is truly impressive… The way he handles the ball in his hands and delivering it… Giannis reminds all of us of a great tall guard who played for Pat Riley back in the 80s,” he stated bluntly.
The excitement is running wild in Miami. Awaiting to see how everything functions, as discussed in the team’s preview, the reality is that many expect Antetokounmpo to be capable of pushing the Florida squad’s ceiling to the point of serious championship contention. Only time will tell…
