Last night a bombshell broke in the headlines.
Sources from the media ESPN reported that the Buss family was selling its 17.8% stake in the Los Angeles Lakers to the new owners Josh Kushner and Bob Iger.
However, not even twenty-four hours had passed since the news broke and a family dispute loomed, as Jeanie Buss intends to challenge the sale. In short, she does not want to sell, and moreover, she asserts that no agreement has ever been reached in the votes.

According to sources close to the situation, Jeanie was the only one of the five siblings who refused to proceed with the sale.
“As a family, we have decided to sell the remaining shares of the Buss family trust to Bob Iger’s group as part of the ongoing transaction,” said the family statement.
“We love the Lakers, their fans and we will continue to support Los Angeles, but now is the time to seize this opportunity to move forward and retire with the utmost dignity,” the group added.
It should be noted that the Buss family has owned the Lakers since Jerry Buss bought the team from Jack Kent Cooke in 1979.
Under their leadership they have won 11 NBA championships; have accrued 2,289 victories; and as many as 12 players have been inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame.
