Jeremiah Fears Leads New Orleans to Its First Victory

October 30, 2026

The young Jeremiah Fears led the New Orleans Pelicans to their first win of the season.

The team coached by Jamahl Mosley defeated the Sacramento Kings by 132-120.

Fears stood out with 22 points, 13 assists (a new NBA record) and 8 rebounds, coming just short of the triple-double.

Seven Pelicans players reached double-digit scoring, including all five of their starters.

Last night they were without Dejounte Murray, who had just become a father, and with Jordan Poole, who is sidelined with an ankle sprain.

  • Herbert Jones: 16 points
  • Zion Williamson: 22 points, 6 rebounds and 5 steals
  • Trey Murphy III: 19 points
  • Karlo Matković: 12 points
  • Saddiq Bey: 10 points
  • Ben Mathurin: 10 points

In the Kings, who continue to slide downhill and out of control, they are the only Western Conference team yet to win this season (0-5).

Rookie Darius Acuff Jr. was their top performer with 34 points, 14 assists and six rebounds.

Meanwhile, De’Andre Hunter and Precious Achiuwa added 24 points each, and Domantas Sabonis finished with 9 points, 15 rebounds and 7 assists.

Turnovers doomed Doug Christie’s squad to 25 in total. Sabonis had seven and the rookie Acuff Jr. six.
