Kevin Porter Jr. Already Drawing Interest From Teams

October 27, 2026

Kevin Porter Jr. aims to keep a place on the American basketball scene. The 26-year-old guard was waived by the Milwaukee Bucks just before the season began, but his name on the free-agent list could be short-lived.

According to Jake Fischer in The Stein Line, several teams have already highlighted the guard’s name as a possible addition, with both the Denver Nuggets and the Sacramento Kings among those involved.

Although the interest is genuine, there is no guarantee that a move will happen soon. Teams have just started the season and are actively evaluating their rosters to see how they can improve; in other words, depending on how each case unfolds, we will see him return sooner or later.

Where he does seem to fit at first glance is with the Kings. The serious injury suffered by Ben Simmons opens a vacancy in the backcourt that the capital city club could fill sooner rather than later. In any case, it doesn’t appear that their season hinges on Porter Jr. one way or the other.

Does Denver Need Kevin Porter Jr.?

Reflecting on what Porter Jr. could add to the Nuggets, it’s clear he would provide ball handling and the ability to generate points in one-on-one situations, but it remains to be seen how many minutes he would log and whether he could do so alongside Jamal Murray and Tyus Jones as teammates.

In any case, it seems clear that Denver needs a wing who can create advantages and inject more life into the offense when the starters are off the floor. Porter Jr. could fit well there, offering a profile different from a purely organizing point guard.
