Los Angeles Lakers will honor the legendary Phil Jackson with a statue near the Crypto Arena during the upcoming 2026-27 season.
Thus, it has been confirmed by the gold-and-purple franchise itself through its social media channels.

“Phil Jackson is synonymous with champion for a reason. His approach as a coach drew out the best in athletes who had never practiced this sport before. After accepting my father’s invitation to join the Lakers, Phil’s creativity has built a vast legacy of champions, contributing five NBA titles and setting a standard of excellence for generations to come,” highlighted Jeanie Buss.
“It is a tremendous joy to be able to commemorate all of his achievements with a statue that truly deserves it,” she acknowledged.
Jackson, now 80 years old, led the Lakers’ bench for eleven official seasons in two distinct spells (1999-2004 and 2005-2011), implementing his signature triangle offense and with flagship duos such as Kobe Bryant–Shaquille O’Neal and Kobe Bryant–Pau Gasol.
He secured five championships in seven Finals appearances, including a three-peat between 2000 and 2002, and two consecutive titles in 2009 and 2010.
